On spring days, when all things come to life, there is long fresh grass growing along the water's edge. Eventually, a beautiful yellow flower emerges from the center of the grass, and this flower is Daffodil, or daffodil. Let me tell you about the beautiful daffodils blooming gracefully at the water's edge, as if you were looking at a young girl's shy yet innocent smile.

What about daffodils?

The origin of daffodils is known to be the European Mediterranean. As an aquatic plant that blooms colorful flowers in spring, it mainly grows in meadows, forest edges, riversides or sunny locations, and prefers places with high soil moisture and good ventilation. However, this daffodil also has a strong survival ability, so it can grow well even in dry climates. However, they prefer sandy soil with good drainage. It has a unique ecology in which it lies dormant in this soil all year round except for spring, and only in spring does the above-ground part grow and flowers bloom.

Please note that most of these plants are poisonous, so be careful not to touch or put them in your mouth. Animals naturally stay away from this plant due to their wild instincts, but pets that have been domesticated by humans may eat it out of curiosity, so be careful. You may be reluctant to plant it because it is a terribly toxic plant, but in fact, because of this toxicity, it plays a role in controlling natural pests. Since the waterside can create an environment that pests like, if you have a pond in your garden, we recommend planting these daffodils near the pond.

Daffodils produce brilliant yellow or orange flowers in spring, which are a major source of pollination for bees. This flower also has an attractive scent, so it can be easily found in nice, recently built parks.

There is a very famous myth related to daffodils, and it is the story of “Narcissus,” which most people are familiar with. The story goes that Narcissus, a young man with a very distinguished and beautiful appearance, loved looking at his own beauty. One day, he fell in love with his own reflection in a pond, looked at it for a long time, and ended up drowning in the pond. It is a legend that it happened. Daffodils can be said to be synonymous with beautiful flowers.

How to use daffodils?

In spring, when the variety of flowers becomes abundant, various types of daffodils begin to show off at flower markets. It is sold in bundles and is great to use as a line flower. March to April, when these flowers appear, corresponds to Easter, a Christian holiday, and daffodils are typically used as decorative flowers in churches at Easter. In Christianity, daffodils are considered "flowers that symbolize new life and resurrection," and they are similar in that they symbolize new beginnings and hope as they are flowers that signal the end of winter and the beginning of vibrant spring.

Daffodils are mainly used to create an outline in center pieces and mark the end of the line of sight. When holding a bouquet, daffodils are also good for forming the outer outline rather than the center.

Like tulips, the stem is surrounded by leaves, so if you peel off the leaves for conditioning, the stem becomes thin and difficult to use, so it is better to leave the leaves surrounding the stem and break or cut them for conditioning. It has a relatively strong survival ability and the strength of its stems is high, so it can be stored for more than two weeks even when placed in water after conditioning, making it a flower that will save the florist's hassle.
